ABOUT SONSHINE

Chris "Sonshine" Heihn is a self-taught artist who first picked up a paintbrush during COVID. What started as experimenting with watercolor quickly grew into acrylic, then oil, now his preferred medium. In 2024, he took his work off the canvas and onto the wall, completing his first spray paint mural.

The name "Sonshine" goes back long before the art. Chris began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with his dad at 13, when his long blonde hair earned him the nickname "Sunshine", while his dad became known around the gym as "Sunshine's Dad". Years later, Chris began using "Sonshine" -- a play on the original nickname, in honor of his late father. 

When he's not painting, Sonshine likes to train BJJ and Muay Thai, spend time with his family, and enjoy a black coffee or a cold Coors Light.
