There's an inspiring story behind this mural, about Nick "the Manimal" Custer, who almost lost his life after being ejected from his truck due to black ice. Nick fell from an overpass and was given two to three hours to live. He spent 5 weeks in a coma before waking and having to re-learn how to walk, talk, eat, drink, everything. This mural is a nod to Nick, and a reminder to buckle up in the 636! 

This was also my most challenging project to date. I completed this in 25 degree weather, surrounded by snow, using a scissor lift and spray paint cans (for the first time) that I had to keep from freezing in an ice chest with warm water. 

I intended to do this whole project with brushes and rollers, but the acrylic paint would become icy in the bristles within a minute. After nine, twelve hour, freezing days, I still am very proud of this project.
